Sequel (n). A published, broadcast, or recorded work that continues the story or develops the theme of an earlier one ~ Oxford Dictionary.
Sequel (n). A published, broadcast, or recorded work with hotter actresses and tinier costumes than the original, designed to earn 100 crores. What story? What continuation? LOL. ~ Bollywood directors.
Raaz 2 & Raaz 3
While much has been said about the tepid sequel to Raaz, we feel that Raaz 2 at least managed to get the horror part right - We left the theatre positively petrified at the thought of further sequels; fears that were wellfounded, if the reviews of Raaz 3 are anything to go by.
Raaz and Raaz 3
While part one managed to pack in a few LOL moments, Double Dhamaal turned out to be as much fun as a 24 hour marathon session of Sarkaar Raj, with zero intervals in between.
The real question here though is why does it return? And more importantly, does it plan to keep on returning? While part one had its moments, the only thing we learned from the sequel is that Tusshar Kapoor is singularly unendearing even when he doesn’t have any dialogues.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara
The best thing that can be said about this Ekta Kapoor production is that it didn’t star Tusshar Kapoor in a pity role. Although given Imran Khan’s wannabe gangsta act, we can’t say that with as much certainty as we’d like. Ekta, just do all of a mankind of a favor and promise us that you won’t put us through anything of this sort dobaara. Now there’s a good girl.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Doobara
While part one featured Emraan Hashmi and explored the dark underbelly of the cricket world, part two merely featured Esha Gupta in varying states of undress. Given the world of differences between the two movies, we are guessing that calling this shambles of a movie Jannat 2 was just the producer’s way of saving himself the time and energy of having to think of a fresh title.
Kya Superkool Hai Hum
We thought the producers got the message when Kya Kool Hai Hum tanked majorly with the critics. But apparently the message wasn’t clear enough, for seven years later we were treated to its sequel Kya Superkool Hai Hum which featured a half-naked Tusshar Kapoor oozing a level of desperation & wannabe-ness that looks indecent on anyone whose name isn’t Poonam Pandey. R.I.P. John’s yellow trunks.
Kya Supercool Hai Hum
While the makers actually invested on a script on Race, its sequel merely featured a series of inane twists that would probably insult the intelligence of a braindead zombie.
