If you’ve witnessed the pure joy of having a pet dog waiting to welcome you at the end of a tiring day, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to find out which Bollywood celebrities can totally relate with you!
Whacky names, diamond collars, regular treks around the country and not to forget, a doting celebrity for a master; celeb pets sure have it all! Here’s a list of eight Bollywood celebs who are crazy over their pets:
Diehard dog lover Hrithik Roshan unfortunately had a Marley & Me moment of his own when his eight-year old dog named Puggy passed away last year. He reflects, “It was heartbreaking, but you have to accept the truth and remember the good times that you gave the dog and those that he was there to contribute to in your life. It gives you unconditional love. Dogs are a great example for human beings. What do they ask for? They only give. You can learn to give and receive from dogs. The lesson to be learnt from them is that to get love, you have to give it first."
Gangsta and Muscles may sound like a formidable choice of name for a pair of dogs, but according to Arjun Rampal, his pets love him unconditionally and he loves them right back. “Whether you go for five days or months, when you come back, they jump on you at the door and love you as they missed you completely," reminisces Arjun.
From personal road trips across the country to their own Twitter accounts, life sure is good to Gul Panag’s pet beagle, Vegas and Milo, a cocker spaniel, whose unfortunate death two years ago left the actress devastated.
While you’ll never find the Exotic diva in a two mile radius of a cat, whom she is reportedly petrified of; she is busy compensating for the same by showering all her love on her adored cocker spaniel, Brando.
After several years of living in the glam industry, Tusshar has yet to find a lady love; which is just as well if you ask us, because all the attention in his life is apparently hogged by his pets, Whiskey and Risky. The duo is known to have their dinner with Tusshar and dad Jeetendra, sit through Tusshar’s office meetings and are spoilt with diamond collars in return!
The actor, who caved into his daughter’s demands and adopted Kunal Kohli’s pups, feels that dogs have a lot to teach children. He says, “Dogs are great companions for kids in the house. Children learn how to take care of someone and about unconditional love. They learn what friendship can be like, without demanding any other thing but time from the other. If you treat them like a family member, the relationship is phenomenal. The average life of a dog is not much as your own life span. So losing a dog also teaches you about dealing with loss.”
His onscreen persona may paint him as a rough and tough type, but apparently the 48 year old actor is a big old softie when it comes to his pets, Myson and Mylove. “From them I learn patience and forbearance. The unconditional love that they teach me to share is timeless and beautiful. Love like this is the highest kind of love,” wrote Salman in a blog post specially dedicated to his pets.
Given that the sultry actress is a known PETA enthusiast, it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that she has a couple of pets at home to spoil rotten; namely two Persian cats and a Pekingese dog, catchily named Champagne!
