Being launched by the most prestigious production house in Bollywood guarantees success. Or does it?

1) Vaani Kapoor

Launched in YRF’s Shuddh Desi Romance, this pretty lady is prepping herself for her followup film – Aditya Chopra’s Befikre! Seems like Vaani needs to be ‘Befikar’ about her future for sometime atleast.

2) Gauhar Khan

Launched in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Gauhar followed up with a few more supporting roles in Ishaqzaade and Game. She also went the ‘reality TV’ way where she won Bigg Boss, found a lover in Kushal Tandon and participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi.

3) Shazahn Padamsee

Shazahn entered Bollywood alongside Gauhar, but unlike her, she couldn’t follow up the success of her debut film. Her second film, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Jee was also an average grosser and so was Housefull 2. She is currently moving to the South Indian film industry and we sincerely hope that you strike gold there!

4) Sashaa Agha

This Pakistani-British beauty was launched by YRF films opposite Arjun Kapoor, in Aurangzeb. Sadly, neither her acting skills nor her singing (she also sang for Aurangzeb) could impress the audiences nor the jury at YRF, and she hasn’t been offered any work after that.

5) Anushka Sharma

Her debut role of a dancer wife, in YRF’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, wowed millions of Indians and helped her secure a sound footing in the industry. Currently busy working on million-dollar projects and romancing Virat Kohli, Anushka definitely has a long way to go!

6) The Mohabbatein Girls

All three girls: Shamita Shetty, Preeti Jhangiani and Kim Sharma showed a lot of promise when they were launched in Mohabbatein. Both Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani couldn’t do much after Mohabbatein. Shamita did a couple item numbers, and a couple flop films before going back to her original identity: Shilpa Shetty’s sister!

7) Parineeti Chopra

She managed to overpower the female lead, played by Anushka Sharma, in her debut film Ladies VS Ricky Bahl and everyone knew that she was here to stay in Bollywood. PeeCee’s cousin then followed up Ishaqzaade, Shuddh Desi Romance and Hasee Toh Phasee; and there is definitely no stopping this future superstar!

Well this proves only one thing: In Bollywood, even if you have the support of the biggest producer, you cannot survive without talent!
