7 Times India’s Next Top Model Proved That Modelling Is More Than Just Looking Pretty

Yep. We said it.

1. When the girls made a LIVE tarantula their accessory for a shoot

Imagine the world’s biggest spider crawling up and down your body with its giant, hairy legs. They may not be very venomous but a bite can be very painful. Now imagine having to smile for the camera through that. Yeah, it’s no joke. Modelling is not for the faint hearted.

2. When the girls played with fire

Fire is not something you can or should even consider playing with. So when the girls were made to walk the fire runway in stilettoes, lit diyas in their hands, we were mighty impressed.

3. When the girls were subjected to extreme makeovers

Let’s say you’ve had long hair for most of your life, and you love it more than anything. But now there’s a photo shoot and you need to cut it off. Would you do it? Well, these girls did, and they had absolutely no say in what the stylist decided to do with them. Tears were shed, hearts were broken, but in the end, the girls embraced their new looks like total bosses.

4. When the girls walked on water

One of the most trying tasks the girls had to perform this season involved them walking in stilettos and a bikini on a four-inch ramp plonked into a swimming pool. It’s easy to laugh at them when they stumble and fall, but try to put yourself in their high-heeled shoes. It’s no laughing matter.

5. When Miss Malini was on a mission to make the girls cry

Popular blogger Malini Agarwal (better known as Miss Malini) was on the judges’ panel for one of the episodes. While any aspiring model dreams of meeting them, their interviews were nothing short of a nightmare. They were criticised in ways that any normal person would break down. But our girls responded to it with a smile on their face and didn’t let the mean comments get the best of them.

6. When the girls displayed some fantastic aerial yoga skills

A skill that takes years to master, aerial gymnastics requires flexibility, balance and, most importantly, co-ordination with your partner. The girls had just a few hours to learn and transform themselves into expert aerial gymnasts for a task, and they managed it beautifully.

7. When the girls had to impress their client

Meeting client requirements is difficult, outright impressing them is impossible. But when the girls were given the task to shoot an ad for the show’s title sponsor, Livon Serum, they passed with flying colours.
