Priyanka Chopra being the over achiever that she is, has made it extremely difficult for her peers to compete with her, let alone be at par. In the 16 years of her career, she has achieved remarkable feats that not many can achieve even in an entire lifetime.

Be it acting, singing, or even standing up for a social cause, Chopra has made her presence felt in the world, and has become a role model for many. While her list of achievements seems never-ending with new ones being added to it quicker than ever, here we list down 10 that have truly impressed us.

1. First Indian to become Hollywood Royalty

W Magazine has a list of Hollywood Royalty who make it to the list not for their lineage but for the hard work and passion displayed in their respective fields. Naturally, Chopra had to make it to the list. She even featured on the cover of the September issue of the magazine and looks absolutely stunning on it. Celebrities like Halle Berry, Chris Evans, Kanye West and Jodie Foster are a few names that enjoy the tag Hollywood Royalty, so you get an idea of how big a deal it is for Chopra.

2. First Indian to headline an American TV show

The news of Priyanka Chopra bagging the lead role in American TV series Quantico came as a sweet surprise to all the fans. We all reveled in Chopra’s glory for she had made us so proud. While landing a lead role in an American series in itself is a huge deal, the show actually became a hit worldwide and now Chopra’s busy shooting for the second season.

3. First South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award

While we were satisfied with seeing PeeCee’s face plastered all over Times Square for Quantico, she went ahead and gave us another reason to give her points. After being the first South Asian female to headline an American show, she also won the ‘People’s Choice Award For Favourite Actress In A New TV Series’, making her the first South Asian female to win a People’s Choice Award.

4. First Indian to play villainess in a Hollywood movie

We haven’t seen many Indian faces in Hollywood, let alone in a negative role. Chopra, however, has ticked that off of her bucket list too. In her upcoming Hollywood movie, Baywatch, Chopra will be playing the villainess, Victoria. In an interview, the actress even revealed that “It (the role) was initially written for a man and they were talking to me for another part. But after the director met me, they thought I would be better as a villain and then they changed the character to be a female.”

5. First Indian actress to collaborate with international chartbuster musicians

Long before setting foot in Hollywood for acting, Chopra tried her hand at music. The actress collaborated with will.i.am for her first single, In My City which became a major hit selling over 130,000 copies. She even won a People’s Choice Award India for Best International Debut.

6. First Indian actress to feature in a school text book

The actress with all her achievements has even made it to the CBSE board Environmental Studies text book. Apparently, Chopra’s life has been inspiring enough even before she became a successful celebrity. She features in the first chapter named Roving Families, Shifting Homes which covers her early life when she moved from Bareily, Lucknow to Massachusetts and Iowa in the US. It is the first time an actress has been honoured in such a way.

7. The first woman to top the endorsement charts in India

Chopra was not only minting money with her box office successes but was also getting a lot of recognition in the brand endorsements space. The actress in 2009 was named ‘India’s Top Brand Endorser’ beating Shah Rukh Khan and the other male celebrities who usually take the spotlight. With brands like Pepsi, Nokia, Garnier, Nestle and more in her kitty, Chopra along with being one of the most successful actresses, she has also established herself as a reliable brand ambassador.

8. First Indian actress to become UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Chopra has proved that she’s quite the giver when she decided to donate 10% of her earnings every year to support underprivileged children through her foundation, The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education. Apart from that, she has helped out many other charities and even spoken up about issues related to women empowerment and child welfare. Chopra has been working with UNICEF to promote children’s rights and education of the girl child since 2009. In 2010, she was declared a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the remarkable work she has done for child rights.

9. Only Indian actress to enter the Guinness Book of World Records

Priyanka Chopra’s 2009 rom-com What’s Your Rashee might not have become a box office success, but it sure got her an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for portraying 12 distinct characters in one film.
