If you've always fancied playing knight in shining armour, then Anushka Sharma is one damsel in need of rescuing. However, before your imagination runs riot, let us clarify that it does not involve you riding up on a white horse; rather, the girl nee
With hardly a day to go for Jab Tak Hai Jaan’s release, Anushka Sharma is rightfully nervous. While wondering if a Yash Chopra film will do well at the box office is redundant; jostling with Katrina Kaif for screen space is the tough part. And in between the hectic promotions, Anushka has to juggle her social life: The Band Baaja Baraat bombshell has a long line of admirers queuing up round the block to tend to.
For the uninitiated, and we doubt there are many, Anushka has been linked to almost every co-star she’s acted with, in the four short years since she entered Bollywood. However, the first official breakthrough came through with her Band Baaja Baraat co star, Ranveer Singh. As rumours of Ranveer’s closeness with Deepika Padukone kicked up speed, Anushka turned to Sidartha Mallya for solace, who promptly whisked her off to London in his private jet. And now the latest entrant to this rather crowded list is Ishaqzaade’s Arjun Kapoor, who has apparently been comforting her over long drawn out cups of coffee at 4 a.m. in the morning.
Rather than react to such reports and give us some juicy inside details, Anushka decided to play dumb. “What can I say about that? Firstly, what does that (4 am friend) even mean? Does it mean that I have spoken to Arjun at 4 in the morning or does it carry a different connotation?” ponders Anushka.
The feisty actress recently went on record saying, “If it means that Arjun and I have spoken to each other at 4’o clock in the morning, in our field, it’s very normal because we really don’t have fixed work hours. We don’t work like that. For instance, I shot only during nights for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. I didn’t even see sunlight during that period. So, if I am talking to my friend Arjun in the middle of my shoot, what’s wrong with it? But if the connotation of a 4 am friend is something else, then I don’t want to talk about it. It’s not something I understand so I won’t even get into it.”
We, of course, immediately set about writing a lengthy letter spelling out the exact connotations of the term ‘4 a.m. friends,’ along with a 30 page footnote on the ways it is misconstrued. Then our gaze fell on the last episode of MTV Genius; the wacky you guys come out with made us realise that this is more your forte.
So come on Genius, tell us how do you define the term ‘4 a.m. friends’?
