Other than the first week of the month, a good film also brings excitement to this inert body of mine.
I must admit, my hopes are very high for the upcoming film Special Chabbis that has been produced under the Viacom 18 label. The fact that the plot has been inspired from a true story is rather exciting.
Let me elaborate on why the idea is really cool; firstly, the robbery at Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri is an unsolved mystery for the Mumbai police since 1987; secondly, with the true story having an abrupt end, it allows for the screenwriters to infuse fact with fiction that has often resulted in some incredible yarns. Take the success of Gurukant "Guru" Desai for example. Sorry, bad joke.
When the media asked Akshay Kumar for a quote on how he pictures the film; he seemed very confused himself, which mind you is indeed a positive thing. Here is what he had to say: “I can’t reveal much. There are lots of twists and turns so if I talk much, you will miss the fun.” The media met the star at Regal Cinema, which had been a popular venue for launches back in the 80’s, and since the film is based on an occurrence that took place in the year 1987, the location for the film’s music launch was perfect.
Yet, about the film, nothing can be said for sure; nonetheless, you have to hear about what Akshay Kumar, the film’s lead, decided to gift, mummy of two, Twinkle Khanna for their wedding anniversary and a pre-Valentine Day present. He sang a song.
“I rehearsed for three hours before recording. However, the song will not be used in the film. I did it just as a passion,” he said. The song may not have made it on to the film, but he still sang it for Twinkle at the launch and most probably she’ll get to keep the recording too.
