After having abstained from the Valley for many years, Bollywood revisits Kashmir through Yash Chopra's latest endeavor that is yet to be named.
The honour was to be none other than Shah Rukh Khan’s. In his two decade career as an actor he has never romanced, on screen, against the beautiful vicinities of Pahalgam and Dal Lake; a regular extravaganza in some of the earlier Bollywood films such as, Kashmir Ki Kali, Junglee, Andaz, Silsila and Mere Sanam.
About the film, information has not been given, but the probing media has crawled out of the scene with enough matter to help us assume that Samar, the role played by Shah Rukh Khan, has plunged into the intricacies of a love triangle with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif at the other two ends.
As per the shooting schedule, Shah Rukh Khan will be stationed in Kashmir till the end of this month. It could very well mean that if the Hotel’s name, in which he holds residence, is disclosed the tourism industry in Kashmir would triumph. As for the people of Kashmir, now that word has spread swiftly, they are overjoyed that Bollywood has returned with a story of love and not of violence.
In the past few years, with the unrest in Kashmir, many directors were of the opinion that shooting in Kashmir would mean spending a lot of their shooting budget on security benefits. Instead, for a trendsetter like Yash Chopra, shooting in Kashmir should be more a labour of love, or a consideration that would be reminiscent of his past work, besides, just being a step towards bringing Kashmir back on the screen.
