Attention: To all those thinking that Akshay Kumar was God’s gift to the world of masala flicks; Shah Rukh Khan has now arrived to steal the show.
After bidding Ajay Devgn a teary eyed adieu, director Rohit Shetty, of Singham fame, shifted base to the Khan Camp by signing on Shah Rukh Khan for his next film. But if you sat back and picturised melodic song and dance sequences amidst lush green fields, we’d like to gatecrash that daydream. Far be it from Rohit Shetty to create a typical, formula romance. Nah, the Golmaal director has got SRK dancing to his tunes, or should we say, running to his tunes by throwing in a couple of bulky wrestlers and exploding cars in the mix.
Releasing mid 2013, Chennai Express follows the journey of a man from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and the adventures that unfold along the way. Or at least, that is what our spies tell us. The rest we leave for you to deduce from the smokin’ hot posters unveiled online:
The movie is already being touted as the next big thing, as it will see Shah Rukh rework the ol’ charm with Deepika Padukone, with whom he’s being paired for the first time since her dream debut in 2007. Last seen knocking back vodkas in 2011’s Cocktail, Deepika has now traded her blingy LBDs for a sexy lungi and a pair of funky aviators. "I feel Shah Rukh is still the same. He is as talented as he was then. Now I have got even closer to him than before. You never get bored with him! He always makes me feel special,” gushed the sexy damsel.
Ever since the Dabangg 2 aftermath ebbed away, we were left feeling a bit empty. But it looks like we can now get our hopes up for a Jab-We-Met-meets-Singham action extravaganza, in the middle of the year! Excited to see SRK strike a pose even as he sends bulky goons flying in the background? Let us know in the comments!
