The machines and machismo are back and we couldn’t be more excited.
The rev of the super bike, action packed fight sequences, supremely buffed actors and a Grand Theft Auto plot – The Dhoom franchise has always had our adrenaline pumping! The highly discussed and anticipated sequel of this franchise, Dhoom 3: Back in action, has us excited and how! With a star cast that boasts of bigwigs like Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Dhoom veterans, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, this film is sure to smash all box office records to smithereens.
The first logo poster of Dhoom 3 was unveiled yesterday and it has gotten all the right people talking. The poster as a first look has left quite a powerful impression, a signature rugged “D” with the number 3 inscribed into it with effects of fire and smoke. The poster speaks volumes about what one should expect from the film, if not in terms of the plot at least the visual feel and treatment.
The YRF banner had been infamous for sticking to formula romance mixes up until 2004 when they surprised audiences by creating an all out action packed entertainer like Dhoom. The makers of the film haven’t looked back since; the franchise has only grown in popularity, not only because of its association with stars like Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya but also because of the impeccable cinematic experience that it provides. This installment of Dhoom will feature Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif as antagonists and this development is sure to get ticket counters ringing off the hook! In fact, it’s not just us who are excited about Aamir Khan featuring in Dhoom, Abhishek Bachchan seems suitably excited too. When asked about Aamir’s association with the cult franchise he said, “I am very excited for Dhoom 3… especially excited because Aamir joins the series as the lead antagonist. His joining the cast completely raises the level of the franchise as he brings forth a high sense of professionalism and perfection."
Dhoom 3 will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, replacing Sanjay Gadhvi who directed the first two franchise of Dhoom. Both the lead actors took up special preparations for the roles that they are playing. Khan reportedly learnt ballet, aerobatics and French technique of parkour, a method of movement focused on negotiating obstacles with speed and efficiency, while Kaif took paragliding training and singing lessons. Bachchan reportedly lost nine kilos of weight to prepare for his role in the film. With all these intensive training techniques, we are without doubt that this will be the best sequel to an Indian film. While there were some glitches in the shooting schedule of the film with Abhishek taking paternity leave and Aamir shooting for Talaash, the production team of the film assures the audiences that the film is fifty percent done and is all set to release next year. It will a terribly arduous wait albeit a rewarding one.
Dhoom 3 is considered as the first Indian film to be released on IMAX screens in India. The film is scheduled to release next Christmas until then leave your speculations about the movie in the comments box below.
