Son of Sardar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan battle it out for the prime spot on Diwali. Any bets on who'll come out on top? Read on!
What would the film fraternity gain by being spiteful? Nothing really, if you ask me; however, there are a handful of civilians who do find their bread and butter in yarning such malicious tales. If you choose to protect your sanity, from such blatant storytelling, here is some advice: Believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see. While all this may highlight our pessimism, we have an example for clarification.
The media is with the Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan release date clash, but look at us; we are enjoying the best of both worlds, shaking a leg when Salman joins Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt in SOS, and we are still grooving to the slow beats of Challa. So, it is quite difficult for us to get around the issue of the clash in release dates.
Both Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan have no issue in releasing the film on the same day. However, the gossip is; if Son of Sardar were to make way for Yash Chopra’s last film, it would only diminish the director’s capabilities because people would think that the film couldn’t withstand the competition. Before thinking so far ahead, I am sure all of us are pre-occupied with other more worthwhile thoughts like exam results, job targets, sex, shopping targets etc.
If the films are to release together it would mean a double Diwali dhamaka for the audience. As we all know, both films have absolutely different plots and the trailers are enough to understand that the directors have worked towards presenting two different forms of entertainment. So, let’s ignore the media uproar and approach the festival of Diwali with the hope of being able to watch both films.
