The new kids on the block came to prominence after their debut in Student of the Year; however, you know it’s not going to end there.
While Siddharth Malhotra will be doing his next film opposite Parineeti Chopra, Varun Dhawan has signed up for his father’s next film under the Balaji banner. Yet, the praise showered upon Varun after his debut should have flattered the youngster; Rajeev Masand wrote, “It’s Varun Dhawan who stands out with a confident, charming turn, able to tackle both comical and vulnerable scenes with ease” and Komal Nahta commented, “Varun Dhawan does very well as the spoilt brat but there are a few places where he needs to buck up. Varun is the best dancer among all three”.
In the New Year, Varun will be working with his father on the remake of a telugu blockbuster Kandireega that will be produced by Ekta Kapoor’s production house. To get him to speak about this new venture, the media hovered around him after the Lion’s Gold Awards ceremony, where he won the Lion’s favourite Debut Male award, and asked him to shed some light on his recent venture. The actor said: “In 2013, I am doing a film with Balaji, which my father (David) is directing. I can’t talk much about it but preparations have begun. After that, I have a few films but I can’t say anything. The producers will announce it”
We all know that the cake isn’t too big and not everyone will get a slice. In the case of Siddharth Malhotra, you may think he didn’t get as much attention as his co-star did; but, think again because he’s doing a film opposite Shahrukh Khan and that my friends is the formula to success in our industry.
Other than the King Khan and Siddharth, this film will also feature Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan, who will give his passion another try. Yes, it is the upcoming Farah Khan film called Happy New Year.
