Fans of Pink Floyd, in May, were speculating that the English rock band could be set to tour again or release a new album after one of the tweet's of the band that said “watch out for big announcement”. It has now been confirmed that the iconic band will release their new album soon.

The legendary British rock band is releasing a new album in October called “The Endless River.”

Members Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, who haven't performed together publicly since the Live 8 benefit show in 2005, briefly reunited during Waters' “The Wall” tour stop at London's O2 Arena, and hinted at the possibility of a reunion.

Band member David Gilmour's wife has now revealed that Pink Floyd will release a new album this October. The Endless River is the group's first album since 1994's The Division Bell, and was reportedly inspired by the same recording sessions.

David's wife, Polly Samson revealed Pink Floyd's plans on her Twitter account. In addition to announcing the album's title and release date, she referred to the record as "Rick Wright's swansong". Her tweet read, “Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called ‘The Endless River’. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.”

In addition to Pink Floyd's 15th studio album, Gilmour is also working on a new solo album.

“The Endless River” will be the first new Pink Floyd studio album since “The Division Bell” was released in 1994 and will feature music from keyboardist and co-founder Rick Wright, who passed away in 2008.
