6 Bikers You Need To Follow On Social Media STAT
Posted On 13th September, 2017 @ 17:56 pm by Ketaki Mankame

Food and fashion bloggers don’t do it for you? Sick of following random dudes holding their girlfriend’s hands and posting pictures of their backs at some exotic place they probably flew first class to? Believe that the journey is more beautiful than the destination? Then you’re probably someone who’s into the beasts who make your journey worthwhile. Unfollow the phonies, because we’ve got a list of hardcore bikers/travellers who will give you REAL #TravelGoals.

We hope you’re already following @oggyf, @bikewithgirl and @afrobawa, our mentors for this season of CEAT & MTV presents #ChaseTheMonsoon. Along with them, we’ve got six more legit riders that you should follow RN.

1. Parakram Hazarika & Neha Chandok

Collecting stories about bikers’ journey from across the country, Parakram Hazarika and Neha Chandok are two wanderers who bring these stories to the world through their Instagram handle—motorcycletales. So, if you’re discovering new stories and roads to tread on, you should follow these guys so that you never really run out of destinations for long weekends.

Thanks to our motorcycles for teaching us the way of the roads and helping us reach our destinations no matter the terrain...

Rakshit aka @themilemuncher shares his #IRideRight philosophy ・・・ ~LECTURE ALERT~ . Dress up for the ride, not for the social media" • • So recently in a very tragic incident one of the Instagram's famous biker chick @monika9422 passed away while she was performing stunts on her BMW S1000RR. She was wearing a helmet and no riding gears at all, for which she was criticised earlier as well • • For me Irideright means: motorcycle gears have been the most important thing since the beginning, whenever you buy a motorcycle, this becomes a necessity to spend some amount of money on good riding gears. I've seen people riding motorcycles worth lacs and a helmet worth ₹1000 which is of no use literally. It might not be practically possible to wear "all riding gears" on your every day commute (except a helmet, gloves and jacket) but atleast wear them when you're going for a ride • • Initially, not everyone can afford a good brand like Alpinestars, SIDI, SHOEI etc but start it from the basic range atleast. In 2014 before my Ladakh roadtrip, I got myself a pair of good riding gloves and a riding jacket • • Here in the picture, I'm wearing the basic range of riding gears- >> Jacket: Cramster Breezer II (₹6500) • >> Riding boots: Royal Enfield (₹6500) • >> Riding pants: RJays (₹6500) • >> Gloves: Cramster TRG2 (₹3200) • >>Helmet: AGV K3-sv (₹23000) which I added recently to my collection • You can consider other brands like Rynox, RE, Spartan for these and for helmets HJC, MT etc • Make sure you buy a DOT certified helmet • ALSO, THIS IS TOTALLY A NON-PROMOTIONAL BUT AN AWARENESS POST, I'VE BEEN USING THESE GEARS SINCE 3-4 YEARS! • • #themilemuncher #ktmindia #ktmduke #duke200 #duke390 #ktmracing #ktm

2. Rishad Bhumgara

Rishad Bhumgara owns a 30-year-old Yezdi and can be found riding on the borders of India, making new friends and giving everyone #travelgoals, one instapic at a time. So if you want to tread on routes unknown without getting into trouble, maybe you could DM this guy and get your facts right before you set off too.

3. Rohith Subramanian

This guy is on a mission to ride across 46 countries in a year and half. Likes to call himself The Lone Wanderer, Rohith Subramanian, is on that solo riding trip that all of us wish to take someday in our life. So well, if your plan ever does materialise, you know whom to bombard with all sorts of questions for a happy journey!

4. Sarath Shenoy

In 2016, this guy was given the job of taking a motorcycle and riding it, day after day on roads less travelled, venturing into Bhutan. And that is what this guy does every day. Just ride. His current obsession seems to be the new Nokia 3310. The phone can be seen on his timeline, more than even his bike nowadays.

5. Mayur Mahanta

Being the head of Assam Bikers, this guy has access to people and places in the area that most of the normal riders wouldn’t. So, it makes sense to be friends with this guy. His instafeed is full of pictures of his KTM duke surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the North East.

6. Neel Jagtap

The only Indian to take a Rajdoot Bobby on a ride to Khardungla, the highest motorable road in India, Neel Jagtap’s love for two stroke bikes is as real as it can get. He’s got an amazing collection of vintage bikes like yezdis and jawas and they all feature on his Instagram every now and then.

If you've taken such rides in the past, and have a story to tell, send them to CEAT MTV Chase The Monsoon on www.mtvindia.com/chase, and we'll be more than glad to turn it into a short film that the world will see.
