The much-awaited teaser of Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena: Queen Of Mumbai has just dropped. The actress who has stuck to the girl-next-door kinda roles so far has finally stepped out of her comfort zone. Kapoor will be playing the role of Haseena, the sister of infamous don Dawood Ibrahim who ranked number three in the list of The World’s 10 Most Wanted.

After Haseena’s husband Ismail Parkar was killed, she took over all the underground operations he used to handle. From extortion to getting Bollywood film rights for foreign markets, she was on top of the game. She led a rather eventful life until 2014 when she succumbed to a cardiac arrest. The teaser shows Kapoor in a never-before-seen avatar as she essays the role of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a gang leader, offering us perspective into the life of the infamous female don. If you haven’t got a chance to take a look at it yet, here you go:

Arjun Rampal’s upcoming film Daddy’s trailer dropped last night too. Arun Gawli a.k.a Daddy belong to the rival gang of Dawood Ibrahim. In fact, Gawali allegedly killed Ismail Parkar. See now how the two stories are related? Rampal’s Daddy is a biopic that offers insight into the life of underground don-turned-politician Arun Gawli.

Watch the trailer here:

Watch these sneak peaks, and you'd immediately undertand how the look and feel of both the films is similar. Even though the real life stories are interconnected, the film makers haven’t merged them in their respective biopics. But imagine, this could become a new form of entertainment! Two independent biopics telling the same story keeping in mind perspectives of all parties involved. The teaser of Haseena: Queen Of  Mumbai and trailer of Daddy reminded us very much of Gangs Of Wasseypur though. Both films seem to have a lot of potential but then again, we’ll have to wait and watch.

Starring Arjun Rampal and directed by Ashim Ahluwalia, Daddy is all set to hit theatres on 21 July.

Starring Shraddha Kapoor and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Haseena: Queen Of Mumbai is set to release on 18 August.
