Men in Blue are in Cape Town right now, serving up defeat after defeat to South Africa on their home ground in this India v. South Africa tour that consists of three test matches, six ODIs, and three T20 series.

While the first leg of the tour, the test matches, didn’t go so well for India, they have bounced back in the second phase, the ODIs. They’ve played three one-day matches out of the total six, winning all three so far. In yesterday’s match, Indians set a whopping target of 303 runs, which SA failed to chase and lost all wickets to end up with a score of 179—their third consecutive defeat by 124 runs. While this was super exciting, and we hope the winning spree continues, a lot of other events and records came through that have us jumping up and down with joy. Have a look:

1. Virat Kohli scored a total of 160* runs yesterday. And in getting this score, he became the first Indian batsman to score a 100 runs by running between the wickets in an ODI.

2. Yesterday’s innings was also the first time Kohli played more than 150 deliveries in an ODI.

3. Want more? He also became the eighth Indian to complete 100 ODI sixes.

4. Oh! Also, he (obviously) bagged the Man of the Match.

5. With yesterday’s win, India clocked in nine consecutive wins away from home, and the first instance of three consecutive wins against South Africa in South Africa. Simultaneously, it was a first for SA to lose three consecutive matches on home ground.

6. Kohli’s 160* also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 15-year-old record of the highest score by an Indian in an ODI. Tendulkar had clocked in a huge total of 152 runs in an ODI in 2003 World Cup against Namibia.

7. Captain cool MS Dhoni also earned a record in his name. He became the first Indian wicket-keeper and fourth all over to effect 400 ODI dismissals.

Whoa! That indeed was a stellar inning played by the Indian Cricket team, and Virat Kohli, yet again, did what he does best—run, run and run! No wonder lady love Anushka Sharma, just like last time, couldn’t stop gushing.
