Virat Kohli Congratulates Mithali Raj, Posts Poonam Raut’s Picture Instead

The way the Indian women’s cricket team is performing at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, it’s hard for the country to not notice each and every player on the team. And after last night’s phenomenal performance by Captain Mithali Raj, the country has a whole new level of respect for the team. About damn time.

The captain of the women’s cricket team, Raj completed 6,000 runs in last night’s match, breaking England’s captain Charlotte Edward’s record, and becoming the highest run scorer in Women’s ODI Cricket history. From Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and even Captain Virat Kohli took to social media to congratulate the champ. Twitter even introduced an exclusive emoticon that pops up every time you tweet with #MithaliRaj.

But if you look closely, something is amiss in Kohli’s Facebook post. While the Captain has congratulated Raj in the post, he’s used Poonam Raut’s picture instead, who scored a century in last night’s match (NBD). What was supposed to be a congratulatory post made with the best of intentions, ended up backfiring and making Kohli look ignorant.

He deleted it as soon as he was called out, but if only he was as fast in doing that as he is between the wickets. #screenshots4lyf
