1. Bollywood is older than Hollywood! Nope, we kid you not. Indeed, Bollywood’s origins can be traced all the way back to 1899, a cool eleven years before Hollywood started out. Sorry haters, we think we just found out who the boss is.

2. The movie ‘Rockstar’ was shot in reverse, from the climax to the beginning. Why, you ask? Apparently, the makers wanted Ranbir’s hairstyle to look as authentic as possible.

3. So, you’ve probably heard that Hrithik was slated to make his debut in Dil Chahta Hai, now get a load of this: Shiney Ahuja was apparently considered for Aamir Khan’s role. Fate, and common sense, however intervened and Aamir Khan ended up completing the much loved troika. Praise be!

4. Sholay, now considered a cult classic, has just won one Filmfare award, and rather than any of the actors being lauded, said award was for Best Editing. However, the movie did receive a special mention at the Filmfare Awards 2005 so we guess the makers decided against pulling an Aamir Khan and abandoning award shows altogether.

5. Kajol was purposely kept in the dark about the fact that SRK would be dropping her at the end of the song, Ruk Jaa, in the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge because the makers wanted to reaction to appear natural. Sigh. So much for method acting.

6. Such is the allure of Bollywood that the late M F Hussain admitted to having watched Hum Aapke Hai Kaun over eighty times!

Shah Rukh Khan is today counted among one of Bollywood richest actors and justifiably so – The Khan once admitted that he willfully over-charges for endorsements and stage performances, but he can’t  ever do the same for his producers because they deserve all the credit for his stardom and fame.

8. Indeed, Aditya Chopra’s office today boasts of an autographed poster, courtesy the Baadshah, which reads: Thank you for making me the star I am today! A sentimental SRK gifted him the poster as a mark for gratitude, for it was Aditya who talked him into taking up the role of Raj; SRK was against signing on DDLJ initially because he didn’t want to be typecast as a loverboy.
