Now for some Grand news; surely, Micromax has been tweaking the competition among the smartphone rivals, which means that they are finally considering the need of having cheaper devices that still blow your mind.

Micromax has been targeting a particular audience that is needy and greedy for more; scenting the opportunity Apple has already begun work on a cheaper iPhone, but Samsung has managed to come up with something rather tempting. It is called the Galaxy Grand.

However, the dual-slim version is what debuts first. Before we run through the features, hold your breath for here is the price; actually, why don’t you wait a little longer. Let us begin by imagining; imagine yourself with this 5-incher dual SIM mobile which allows you to answer a call on your second number when, you are busy talking to someone, using the first number. Such call flexibility will insure that you never miss an important call.

Then there are the numerous capabilities of owning a phone that runs on Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean, but what will you do with all that app, all that app, if the battery life on paper seems so insufficient; a 2,100mAh battery, doesn’t seem powerful enough to enjoy a 5-incher. On the other hand, the screen has a low resolution, as compared to its big brothers; so may be, the idea of having a screen resolution of 800x480p and a pixel density of 187ppi was Samsung’s reason for offering a weaker battery. Its biggest competitor, the Micromax Canvas HD, has a screen resolution of 1280x720p and pixel density of 294ppi.

If you go ahead and buy the phone, you may need to go in for a microSD card if 8GB internal memory sounds insufficient for your travel media consumption. Sadly, the RAM is only a GB which doesn’t sound promising for future software updates, because some software have a good appetite for your RAM. While there are some uppers like an 8 megapixel back camera and 2 megapixel front camera, there are also the obvious downers. Also, now for the bottom-line - it costs Rs 21,500.
