Strategic Business Development Intern
Location: Bangalore

ROLE SUMMARY

Amazon offers services to seller partners in India to expand their horizon by selling on Amazon websites globally and grow multi-channel commerce. It is in tandem with the ‘Make in India’ movement and enables Indian sellers to tread an unprecedented growth trajectory. Amazon Global Selling is an important initiative to grow the Amazon Marketplace Seller Business around the world and holds a key position in Amazon’s mission to be the place where customers can find and discover anything they want to buy on Earth.


The objective of this role is to deliver on-going new business growth to Amazon's suite of seller services by facilitating international expansion of India based seller partners. In this role, you will recruit third-party seller partners that deliver competitive inputs to the marketplace like broad product selection and sharp pricing. You will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to enable broad use of Amazon Services by small/medium sellers and large enterprises in India wishing to sell globally, and play a key role in influencing product selection on Global Amazon websites thereby furthering Amazon’s ‘Make in India’ agenda.

Responsibilities:


  • Define key retailer segments to target to build long-term business opportunity 
  • Understand Amazon Services products and services and be able to articulate its functions and benefits to external audiences.
  • Prospect, identify and build relationships with potential partners 
  • Identify opportunities, communicate the specific value proposition for their business and establish long-term, successful partnerships with strategic sellers/partners
  • Interface with executive level contacts of prospective clients and help them understand the opportunity with Amazon as a sales channel for their business. 
  • Drive and create proposals, business cases, and responses to customers' business requirements and take a consultative approach to business development.

 

What’s Required From You?
  • High level of passion and intuition in the E-Commerce industry 
  • Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented.
  • Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business “by the numbers”.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and ecommerce challenges, with the instinct to build and convey compelling value propositions 
  • A natural bent of mind towards Enterprise Sales or Account Management
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.
