What do Simone Singh, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nina Garcia and Amy Adams have in common? The 'jumpsuit' of course!

Lately, runways of Louis Vuitton (Cruise 09), Chanel (Fall 08 and Cruise 09) and Marchesa (Fall 08) have all seen the 'jumpsuit', not to mention what we already saw on the Spring 08 runways of Giambattista Valli, Jean Paul Gautier and Stella McCartney (to name a few)... But, are we on board with the trend, we aren't entirely sure.

Jumpsuits are extremely hard to pull off and can be very unforgiving. There is of course the ever-present peril of the camel-toe and on slightly better endowed and petite women, jumpsuits can only prove to be their nemesis. Having said that, its hard to see a red carpet these days without a jumpsuit or two, and these women (most NOT all) are wearing it well! Doing color, fabrics, sleeves and embellishments with equal aplomb; they are making us re-think our stance on jumpsuits. Plus, we think these are going to be around for a while so might just have to get used to it!

But hey, if it was sunshine and Disney tunes all around, what would we have to do? Trust peeps like Kim Kardashian and Mauli Ganguly to always provide one with perspective. One of 'How-Not-To-Wear-A-Trend' in this case. Its of course Style 101, one doesn't have to blindly follow trends. Especially by putting other innocent by-standers at risk.

So, where do we stand on jumpsuits? Teetering on the wall in our Manolos for now.
