Intel & MTV On The Job season 2 this week explores yet another career option – Promo Producing.

Our three aspiring promo producers, Fahad, Ankit and Monish were given the task of producing a 30 sec promo for MTV’s new show called MTV U by Piyush Raghani (Associate VP OAP).

The brief being that the show is all about campus life and all those things that make life in a campus interesting.

• The product image must be kept in mind while shooting the Promo.
• The contestants were given 2 hours to conceptualize, one hour for the recee, 4 hours to actually shoot and another 4 hours to edit it.
• Each contestant was also given 50 k each.
• They were also provided with 2 main characters and 5 extras to do the needful.

The criteria for judging:

• How well the show idea has been executed and whether the communication is right.( giving out the right vibe)
• How well the contestants stick to the brief and whether they can deliver under budget and other production constraints.
• Whether the final promo actually impresses our esteemed judges.

Piyush, Pritish Nandy and VJ Nikhil were the Jury Members.

Monish is the eldest with a little more experience and a mêlée with the DOP lands him up in a testing situation. Fahad, the composed amongst them toils in situations when shoot is stalled due to power failure. Not to forget the hardships faced by Ankit due to heavy rains.
