Mick Jagger, the lead guitarist of Rolling Stone announced the formation of ‘Super Heavy’ last year. The members of the rock band earlier consisted of Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and Damian Marley. David and Mick, both had a mutual liking towards Indian classical music. Therefore, they included A.R.Rahman into the band. Super Heavy is the only band that showcases different music styles from reggae to ballads to Indian classical music.
Super Heavy has been greatly influenced by Indian Music. According to sources, the name of the band is inspired from Muhammad Ali and with the help of Rahman, Mick Jagger sang a song titled ‘Satyamev Jayate’ in Sanskrit. The album also includes a romantic song titled 'Mahiya'
Since all the artists belong to different cultures, it is difficult to agree to a common point. But, if you are a musician; music itself overpowers you.
