On This Day, in 2003, Norah Jones topped the US & UK charts with 'Come Away with Me'
We’ve heard the music of maestro Ravi Shankar and his protégé Anoushka Shankar who is still carrying forward her daddy’s legacy, but while the praise and admiration that we have lent to the latter may be a tad eccentric, we forget to celebrate the music of his first daughter Norah Jones. She might not be a classical Indian musician like her father or step-sister; nonetheless, her talent as a jazz pianist and singer are unmatched in the contemporary scenario.
On this day in music, back in 2003, Norah Jones started a three week run at No.1 on the US album chart with 'Come Away With Me', also a UK No.1. In the month of March, she will drop by in India for a three-city tour that will start in Mumbai on the 3rd, 5th in New Delhi and on the 8th of March in Bangalore. We advise you not to miss it, for the summer sun won’t be too kind on you if you do. After all, a nine time Grammy Award winner couldn’t have gathered all those accolades without any musical genes.
