This Day in Music: Aerosmith released their best selling album ‘Get A Grip’

On this day in 1993, Aerosmith released 'Get A Grip' their 11th studio album which became their best selling album to date with 20 million copies

 

sold worldwide.

 

Through the years, the Bad Boys from Boston have inspired tons of rock artists, have imprinted their musical excellence on their fans and have created a legacy that will live on forever. ‘Get A Grip’is evidence of huge following the band enjoys.

 

The album contained so many hits that some would mistake it to be a ‘best of’ album - smash hits and fan favorites like ‘Amazing’, ‘Cryin’, ‘Livin on the Edge’, ‘Shut Up and Dance’ and ‘Fever’. It also featured guest artists Don Henley and Lenny Kravtiz.

 

Two songs won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance with the album featuring on almost every chart. The iconic album cover had a picture of a cow’s pierced udder, which Aerosmith confirmed was computer generated after objections from animal rights groups. ‘Get a Grip’ will always remain a must have album for diehard fans of rock
